early fall

This is a plein air painting i did a couple weeks ago. I am just now getting it posted. It is the first oil i have tried for awhile. What caught me about this was the backlight on this very yellow tree. the other trees had not started to turn as much yet so there was still a lot of green around. But it was a beautiful day to be outside and enjoying the weather God had provided on this day.

I think i may keep trying oils. I used to really fear oils because I always felt that i overworked them and they became like mud. This one actually seems a bit bright to me but it was pretty bright on that day. I really just need to find more time to get out and paint so i don’t forget things i learn between trips.
