I was able to get out for a few hours to do this plein air painting of a farm’s grain silo’s yesterday afternoon while it was so nice. I drove around a bit until this caught my eye. Finished in time to get home and get cleaned up for Friday night football. You could smell it int he air.

Went out a few evenings ago and completed this painting. The trees caught my attention while driving down the road and then the little out building became the focus with its aqua colored roof. I still need work on the way I handle trees, that’s for sure. But each time out is another practice session and a chance to improve.

Sheep Laying Together

This is a quick study done as reference for a possible larger painting. I was also trying out a combination of pens with watercolor. I Hope to do a lot more of these in the coming year.

This is a straight watercolor done in plein air. I am part of a group that gets together to do this about once a month. I wish I had time to be more active with the group. It is the Ohio Plein Air Society (OPAS.) Once again, I am trying to loosen up from my background of wanting to draw and paint every detail. This farm had a tiny house but a huge barn. It didn’t seem as though anyone was home. There was only one car that drove down the same road even. It was a great time to be alone, paint, pray, listen and let all the stresses of life be far, far away. 1 Kings 8:28
