Virtual paintout in Stavanger, Norway

The Virtual Paintout for the month is in Stavanger, Norway. Using Google Street view, you find a place to paint and go at it. Great idea and fun especially during winter months. I would much rather be on location but this is still good practice.
Available for sale. Contact me if you are interested.

South Street

I was supposed to be going to Columbus for a paintout with the Ohio Plein Air Society, the group that I belong to that provides opportunities to paint with others that share my passion. Because of the big snowstorm, i didn’t try to drive down there. Instead, after digging myself out I went downtown Ashland [...]

Township Highway 1335

This is the same barn as I had painted before. It is a very cool barn so I decided to go back and paint it again with the fall color all around. I actually left work early one day last week to go paint this in plein air because it was such a great day. [...]

I had an entire weekend with Lanie’s sister and her family in town. They had plans to go to Columbus on Saturday and then to see their aunt and uncle in Toledo. This offered me a great opportunity to do some plein air. It was a great weekend. I had a great time getting out [...]

I painted at the Moore farm which is a tree farm and also a place to go and cut flowers. What I saw was mostly day lilies, [...]

I am proud to say that my painting above called “whooo” has been juried into the all ohio all media show at the Coburn Gallery on the campus of Ashland University. The cool thing is, that’s my home town so I won’t have to go far for the reception. The reception is this Sunday afternoon, [...]

Ebenezer Stone

Last week, Our new lead pastor at Park Street Brethren Church gave us a short devotional. It was based on  1 Samuel 7:12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far has the LORD helped us.” He was encouraging us to identify our own [...]

This was a plein air study painted last Saturday. It was a beautiful Saturday morning but a little chilly and the wind was blowing pretty steadily. I don’t have an umbrella to use yet so I didn’t have to worry about that blowing away, but i did wind up with full sun on my canvas [...]
